Cardiff and Birmingham both licking their wounds

The Blues were stunned by a 1 - 0 home defeat at St Andrews last Saturday when Blackpool rocked into town and took home all three points.

City's week started with a point at Derby but in "the derby" it all went belly up with a 1 - 0 loss against rivals Swansea City.

So who will bounce back the strongest on the weekend?

It's the first of two home games in quick succession for City. After Birmingham on Saturday Coventry are the visitors to Ninian Park on Tuesday night.

Birmingham manager Alex McLeish is looking for his side to improve. He brings his squad, including Camerone Jerome and Marcus Bent, to Wales face City on Saturday afternoon.

"It's about what we do now," said the Scot.

"That result, it's a black mark against us. We take it on the chin. But what are we going to do about it?

"I'm asking my players what are they going to do about it?

"It was out of character for a lot of them in their performances, and they know that.

"Collectively, we're all in it together."

Dave Jones will need to be a bit more inventive otherwise Birmingham will know exactly how to stiffle the goal-shy Bluebirds who have drawn 5 of the 7 league games played so far this season. City maybe unbeaten but there are too may draws and not enough goals.
