Cardiff call for FA involvement in Johnson incident

"We have now had the time to review the video footage of the incident where Roger Johnson was 'elbowed' in the throat by Claude Davis in our match at Crystal Palace on Saturday 11th April 2009," said Ridsdale in a statement on the club's official website.

"In our opinion, the challenge looks deliberate and malicious and could have more seriously endangered Roger Johnson's wellbeing than hopefully is the case. We are now asking the Football Association to investigate as a matter of urgency.

"If that incident had happened off the field of play, the police would have been asked to view the video with a view to considering assault charges. Any further comment will only be made once we have had a response from the FA."

Thi is the second week in a row that Davis has enraged the opposition manager. Then Q.P.R. boss Paulo Sousa was sent to the stands at Loftus Rd after being enraged by a Davis challenge on one of his players. Davis caught Samuel Di Carmine with his arm (missed by the referee) before taking him out on the touchline, the decision that caused Sousa to flip.

Neil Warnock speaking after Saturday's game with City had the audacity to say

"Claude didn't elbow him. If anything, he ran into his arm.

Shame on you Warnock.
