Cardiff City 2 - 1 Bolton W

In front of a 5604 crowd at Ninian Park, City kicked off their final first team friendly against the Premiership team.

After a goalless first half, Ricketts broke the deadlock for the team from the Reebok early in the second half. After a number of substitutions for each side, City came back well in the closing stages, equalising through a superb long range effort from Thorne, and winning it with a Gabbidon overhead kick after a corner.

City looked better than they did in the week against Wolves and this was an excellent result to take into our first game of the season at Oldham next Saturday.

City lined up 4-3-3: Alexander, Weston, Young, Gabbidon, Croft, Whalley, Boland, Kavanagh, Campbell, Thorne, Earnshaw. Subs: Margetson (gk), Barker, Legg, Prior, Maxwell, Leo FW

Bolton put out a strong team also; Jasskelainen, Mendy, Gardner, N'Gotty, Bergsson, Whitlow, Djorkaeff, Frandsen, Ricketts, Ochocha, Farrelly. Subs: Nolan, Poole, Southall, Barnes, Pederson, Hansen, Livesey
