THE COUNTDOWN TO LAUNCH BEGINS

On 5th August 2008, the Cardiff City Supporters' Trust Steering Group received confirmation that the Financial Services Authority have accepted our proposed constitution, and the Trust is now a legally registered Industrial and Provident Society registered under the formal title of Cardiff City Supporters Society.

The official date of registration was the 4th August 2008. There are a few final formalities to tidy up, but we have come a long way since the first meetings last November and the public meeting at the end of March when over 100 supporters voted unanimously to establish a Trust.

Of course, the really hard work starts here and the focus now moves to our formal launch event which will take place on Thursday 4th September, kick off 7.30pm at the Electricity Club in Pontcanna, Cardiff.

We will shortly announce details of how fans can join the Trust and there are other exciting actions in the pipeline including a revamp of the Trust website at www.ccfctrust.org , to enable supporters to interact with their Trust, give their views and join online.

As someone who registered their interest in the Trust, we need you to be ready to open your wallet and sign up as soon as membership is open. There will be three levels of membership all entitling each member to the same one vote in the running of the Trust and membership subscriptions can be paid by easy instalments through standing order.

If you are able to make it to Cardiff on the evening of the 4th September, we
have an exciting programme lined up to celebrate the Launch. As well as the formal Trust business, the second part of the evening will consist of a Fans' Forum hosted by BBC sports journalist, Rob Phillips with a panel of ex-city stars waiting for your questions on Cardiff City and football in general. Andy Legg has already confirmed that he will be one of our panellists and we will shortly announce more names. What better place to be discuss Cardiff City's blistering start to the season? (yes, we have faith!).

As an added bonus, those who sign up to join the Trust by standing order on the night will be entered into a draw to win a signed City shirt. Of course, there is a fully licensed bar at the venue as well.

A Supporters' Trust can only be as powerful as the numbers who join. We want to help the football club go forward, be more responsive to supporters and connected with the South Wales community. Your voice will determine the Trust's initial priorities and plans.

More details of the Launch Event and Membership will follow shortly, but if you have any questions or just want to offer to help - we always need more volunteers, you can post questions and comments on the Trust messageboard at www.tinyurl.com/ccstmessageboard or email help@ccfctrust.org
