Russell Slade press conference:

Ben Turner looks set to hand Cardiff a huge boost by making the matchday squad for the first time this season when they host Leeds. The former Coventry centre-back has been sidelined since July having sustained an ankle injury, which required surgery, in a pre-season friendly at Yeovil and having returned to full fitness in a number of development games Turner is in the mix to feature.

Sean Morrison is likely to be given the nod to partner Bruno Manga but Turner remains an option should Russell Slade decide to freshen things up after their loss at Millwall.

The likes of Ravel Morrison, Nicky Maynard and Mats Daehli will also hope to start.

Striker Souleymane Doukara is available to Leeds.Doukara missed the defeat to Wolves through suspension after collecting five bookings. He is likely to replace Steve Morison in attack, as Neil Redfearn prepares to select what is likely to be his first team as permanent manager.

Redfearn must also decide whether to retain Brazilian playmaker Adryan at the top of a midfield diamond or recall Rodolph Austin.

Speaking ahead of the trip to South Wales Redfearn had this to say:

"We're due to win one there," said Leeds caretaker boss Neil Redfearn.

"We've got to make sure we go there with that mentality.

"We've got to go and get at them, make sure they know they're in the game.

"To be fair, the lads have been really upbeat. There's no lack of confidence and there's a desire to go and get a result.

"It's up to me to make sure we're organised and we've got a game plan."

Redfearn enjoyed success during his last spell in caretaker charge, picking up 10 points from a possible 12..

"We've got to go down the same lines, we've got to make training upbeat," he said.

"We've got to get back to the same message about having the ball and being able to play with the ball.

"The same work ethic we can't cut corners. We've got to do the hard yards.

"Then they know full well they're well-equipped to earn their luck. The stronger you are and the more committed you are and the braver you are, the luckier you get.

"Sometimes that just tips a game and the balance to get a result."
