Curtis McDonald fired City into the next round of the FAW Youth Cup with an early goal Treforest last Saturday.

The game was fiercely competitive with both side getting stuck in. I have to admit it was the first time I'd been to see the youth play and they made me want to go again. (These guys were U19 so could be 1st team age, Jerome and Ledley have been lifted from this group of lads).

The only goal of the game came early on, McDonald scoring inside the first 10 mins, he slotted home from a move down the City left.

City really should have been 3 up at half time. Chances went a begging, the best two when Jacobsen placed a ball across goal that quite literally ran across the goal line and when Hartley headed against the post.

Swansea to their credit had more more possession in the second half but City still had the best chances with the post being hit again.

These boys play with passion and no little skill. Do yourself a favour and get along to see them.
