Cardiff confirm play off place

Just a couple of months ago the club looked to have a very bleak future with fans starting to think that just surviving in this division would be a bonus.

Now just several weeks on it's all clicked on the field with a 9 game unbeaten run to catapult City to an unassailable position in the play offs and a likelyhood of a 3rd or 4th place finish.

The rumours suggest that TG will come good with his investment into CCFC and will take a major shareholding.

For a few million to settle the urgent debts TG might find himself with a Premier league club for a very modest fee.

Before we get too carried away though we have two more regulation League games to go. Saturday April 24th against Sheffield Wednesday, a match that could see the Owls relegated. Nice club, cracking stadium and a great City to visit for an away game. But karma says that they will be paid back for laughing at us missing the plays off last season at Hillsbrough.

I'm all for Cardiff looking after No.1 and if that means beating Sheff Weds and they go down then so be it.

The season ends at Derby on May 2nd.

Then City have a two legged play off semi final. Details of that are to be confirmed. It'll be against either Forest, Leicester, Swansea, Blackpool or Reading (but the Royals are hanging onto mathematical possibilities).

Those matches are provisionally booked for May 8 and May 11/12. All the play off games are live on Sky.

The final is at Wembley on Saturday May 22nd.

Saturday in London was amazing. More on that to come.
