Cardiff fan dies at play-off game

A football fan died of a suspected heart attack watching Cardiff City's Championship play-off semi-final against Leicester City on Wednesday.The man in his 50s, from Ebbw Vale in Blaenau Gwent, was taken ill in the Ninian Stand at Cardiff City Stadium.

He is believed to have had a heart attack during the first half of the game following Cardiff City's opening goal.

He was treated in the stand by medical staff.

Cardiff fans have left tributes to the man on supporters' message boards. His name has not been released.

Cardiff won the game on penalties to secure a place in the Championship play-off final against Blackpool at Wembley on 22 May.
