Cardiff looking again at Danny Coles

The Bristol press have started worrying that Cardiff City will make another offer for defender Danny Coles. The Bluebirds put in a £500,000 bid in the summer but it was rejected by Bristol chairman Steve Lansdown.

City have defensive injury worries with Gabbidon, Prior and Young out of action. James Collins took a knock for Wales U21 last week as well.

There are reports today that City will attempt to sign Gary Doherty, maybe even as soon as today.

Lansdowne told the Bristol Evening Post today that he saw Sam last weekend at Dean Court

"Sam Hammam was positioned just a few seats away from me and we didn't speak, so I wouldn't like to speculate on why he was at that particular game.

"I wouldn't be surprised, though, if Cardiff or anyone else continued to watch Danny and we will not be surprised if there are more enquires about him.

"At this moment we have not received a renewed offer from Cardiff, or any other club, and we're certainly not inviting any.

"Danny is a quality player who is getting better all the time and we want him in our team for as long as possible."
