As predicted the club are away on four key dates, first game (Birmingham), Boxing Day (Brentford), New Years Eve (Brighton) and the final game at Huddersfield for an early kick off on a Sunday (thanks EFL).

City's last home game of the season will be against Newcastle Utd while the game against Aston Villa at CCS will be on Bank Holiday Monday Jan 2nd.

Dates and kick off times are likely to change for TV but the opening weekend's TV games have already been announced. Cardiff are not involved in those.

Some points to make:

Four key dates all away from home (1st, Boxing Day, NYE, Last day).

Nine midweek fixtures. Five at home (four of those before Christmas), four away (three of those after Christmas).

Of the four away midweek games we have to go to Preston, Blackburn, Barnsley and Derby.

Newcastle at home is the last home game of the season. Villa at home is on Bank Holiday Monday, Jan 2nd.

City go to Burton for the first time in a league fixture on 1st October.

Those hoping to party on New years Eve will need to get home from Brighton a bit sharpish.

Reading away is on FA Cup 4th round weekend. So don't book too far in advance as it could be moved.

On the last day, a Sunday at midday, we are away at Huddersfield.

Cardiff have never won their opening three fixtures of a league season.
