Cardiff City lost at home to Bournemouth this afternoon with two sloppy goals condeming the Bluebirds to their first defeat in the reserve league this season. Bournemouth took the lead on 17 mins and appeared to have the upper hand. City were rocked in the 30 minute when Jason Bowen went down injured. He was replaced on 35 mins by Richard Ingram. Ingram found himself in space and scored the equaliser on 41 mins beofre Des Hamilton caplitalised on a defensive error and made it 2 - 1 to City at half time.

City looked the stronger team as the second half started but shot themselves in the foot. Firstly a Bournemouth free kick was converted by the Cherries Danny Thomas. As the defense and keeper Martyn Margetson were trying to organise themselves Thomas calmly placed the ball into the corner of the empty net. Worse was to follow for Margetson, he went wide right to clear the ball and succeeded in kicking it stright to a Bournemouth player who gleefully fired into another unguarded net from 35 yards.

There is no news yet on how badly injured Jason Bowen was. Spencer Prior and Ceri Hughes did not play intodays game. Prior I assume becuase he is to be part of the team on Saturday. Hughes I do not know why?

Layton Maxwell had a good game for City and will have done his chances no harm.

The reserves are next in action away at Brighton next Wednesday evening.
