Cardiff v Blackburn. Match preview

Last updated : 02 January 2016 By Michael Morris

C:WindowsTempphp30CE.tmpSlade was frustrated by the number of chances missed in Tuesday night's 1-1 home draw with Nottingham Forest as the Bluebirds failed to register their first victory over the festive period.

Kenwyne Jones has scored in only one of the last eight games and fit-again Federico Macheda and Sammy Ameobi are available to partner the on-loan Tony Watt if the Trinidad & Tobago striker is rested.

Midfielder Peter Whittingham is also pushing for a first start since the end of November, but central defenders Sean Morrison (knee) and Ben Turner (ankle) remain out.

Fode Koita is a major doubt for Blackburn.

The Frenchman was forced off against Bolton on Monday with a hamstring strain he had felt in the warm up.

On-loan Leicester midfielder Tom Lawrence could replace him in the starting line-up in what will be his final appearance before he returns to the East Midlands.

Corry Evans (groin) missed out at the Macron Stadium and must prove his fitness in training this week, while Jason Lowe (foot) is a long-term absentee.
