The Bluebirds, who lost 3-0 to the Cherries in south Wales in a Capital One Cup tie earlier this season, saw Fedirico Macheda pick up a second yellow in their 2-1 win at Brentford on Saturday after Kadeem Harris had earned a straight red.
Winger Harris will serve the first of his three-match ban while Macheda's one-game suspension means Kenwyne Jones or Eoin Doyle stepping into the side.
Russell Slade will assess defender Lee Peltier who limped out of that victory with just 12 minutes gone
Joe Ralls is standing by to replace the former Huddersfield man.
Bournemouth have Harry Arter available when they make the trip.
