Cardiff v Coventry

McPhail will come back in, probably in place of Paul Parry who is thought to have a slight hamstring problem.

Jones has to make decisions up front. Does he give Eddie Johnson another start? Johnson was terrible at Swansea last week but with Jay Bothroyd failing to score since his arrival at the club maybe a change will make something happen. Ross McCormack will start for sure. He's City's only goal scoring striker this season (Thompson not at club anymore).

At the back Gabor Gyepes may get a debut if Jones drops Darren Purse. I think that's unlikely but with Darren Purse going public to criticise Jones then maybe the City skipper has talked himself out of the side. Mark Kennedy came off the bench on Saturday and could challenge Comminges for a place in the starting XI.

City (probable): Heaton, Comminges, Johnson, Purse, McNaughton, Ledley, Rae, McPhail, Whittingham, Bothroyd, McCormack.

Subs: Enckleman, Gyepes, Kennedy, Blake, Johnson.

Chris Coleman brings his side to Ninian Park with "Welsh" striker Freddy Eastwood in attack.

Eastwood is the man of whom Dave Jones said

"We have looked at Freddy, but I believe he will go elsewhere," said Jones back in June.

"Anyway we can get far better than that if I can get the players I want.

"If I can get the strikers I want this summer I don't think there will be anyone around with any cause to complain."

This has all the hallmarks of Eastwood making Jones eat his words doesn't it? Eastwood has scored just twice so far this season, McCormack for City has 6, so it's advantage Jones so far. But McCormack apart City are struggling for goals.

Also in attack Coventry have Clinton Morrison, another player loosely linked to City during the summer. He's only scored twice as well this season so goals are at a premium for both teams.

Cardiff are 11th in the table with Coventry 7th but there's just a point between the sides.
