Robert Earnshaw on being captain for the night

"I'd love to lead both the Bluebirds and Wales one day.

"I was proud to be captain and one day I'd love to be skipper of this club and Wales," said Earnshaw. "Right now Graham Kavanagh is captain and it was an honour to wear the armband for one game.

"I jokingly said I'd be offended if it wasn't me. After all, I was the longest serving player on the pitch. The gaffer just said 'okay' and it was a big occasion for me to captain the team for the first time."

Losing manager Paul Brush on Cardiff's win

"It was a mixture of top-quality finishing and conceding two goals in quick succession twice.

"I felt we were in with a good chance in the opening half an hour and we even had one cleared of the line, but throughout the game we never dropped our heads and kept plugging away.

"I'd like to think we gave Cardiff a good game and this performance has given me a lot of optimism for the games ahead."

Lennie Lawrence

"We could have seen three candidates for goal of the month and Campbell's finish was brilliant.

"Overall it was a good night and I'm pleased that more players from the squad have now had match practice."
