Carmarthen 0 - 3 Cardiff City

Goals from Nicky Maynard, Joe Mason and Federico Macheda saw Cardiff to a confortable victory against Carmarthen on Monday night in the opening pre season game for Cardiff City.

The match was played at Bridge Meadow, the home of Havefordwest County with City wearing their new blue away kit.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer named two teams to play either half but his plans changed early when Craig Noone went off injured. Guido Burgstaller replacing him in the first half. The Austrian played out the remainder of the game.

The line ups were:

Cardiff City first-half XI: Lewis; McNaughton, Hudson, KTC, John; Dæhli, Gunnarsson, Whittingham, Noone; Mason, Maynard. 

Cardiff City second-half XI: Wilson; Brayford, Connolly, Turner, Fabio; Burgstaller, Ralls, Eikrem, Berget; Le Fondre, Macheda.

Ten senior players missed the match with a number of them likely to be leaving, David Marshall, Kagisho Dikgacoi, Fraizer Campbell, Kenwyne Jones, Jordon Mutch, Juan Cala, Gary Medel, Steven Caulker, Javi Guerra, Kim Bo Kyung were all absent. Caulker, Medel and Campbell are all expected to be gone in the next week, Marshall could also be on his way but City are keen to keep him. If Kenwynne Jones went noone would mind.
