Cattermole and Mendy are more rumoured names

cattermoleReleased Sunderland skipper Lee Cattermole has been linked with Cardiff and Le Havre full back Benjamin Mendy has also been mentioned with City interest.

Cattermole has been told he is surplus to requirements as part of Paolo Di Canio’s wide-ranging Stadium of Light revolution.

Friends of the midfielder have revealed he was told a fortnight ago he was free to find a new club – along with Stéphane Sessègnon and defender Phil Bardsley, who are also set to leave Wearside.

Hull City are also said to be a possibility for Cattermole.

Mendy, just 18, is set to move to England (I know I know) and TeamTalk have linked his name with Cardiff.

Le Havre president Jean Pierre Louvel told RMC: "We are talking to clubs and the talks with English teams are going better than others.

"He is most likely going to go and play in England."

Another target Bafetimbi Gomis has received an offer from Shaktar Donetsk which is rumoured to be better than alleged offers from both South Wales Premeir League sides Cardiff and Swansea.

Again all this is speculation with no comment from CCFC.
