Championship fixtures and table

Last updated : 22 April 2017 By Michael Morris

The Seagulls lost 2 - 0 at Norwich with the Brighton keeper scoring two own goals. There are nine fixtures today with Reading and Huddersfield looking to put pressure on Newcastle in the race for automatic promotion, while there's a play off battle as well with Leeds, Fulham and Sheff Weds competing for a play off place.

At the bottom Wigan could get relegated if Cardiff beat them and either Blackburn or Forest win.

There are a combination of results that could see Newcastle promoted on Monday night but it's quite possible the Magpies will come to Cardiff on Friday needing a result to confirm promotion. If Huddersfield lose today and Reading fail to win Newcastle will go up with victory over Preston on Monday night but a Reading win or a Huddersfield draw today will mean Newcastle will need to wait a little bit longer.

Huddersfield's game in hand, being played on Tuesday at Wolves, might also have an influence.
