There are five matches tonight and if Hull win at Portsmouth Cardiff would drop to 9th.
Apart from Birmingham (who play Friday) the rest of the top 10 will even up their games played to 39 each.
As well as wanting Portsmouth to beat Hull we could do with Ipswich getting a result at home to Middlesbrough. Ipswich are nine points behind Cardiff, Middlesbrough just one point ahead of City. Anything other than an away win would be good.
Birmingham's game at Doncaster on Friday is actually the first match of the weekend so while the Blues will even up to 39 games on Friday the rest of the division will play their 40th game on Saturday.
Leicester and Palace are not that far behind the playoffs and will be be looking for home wins against struggling oppisition this evening to close the game on the top 6. (Just looking briefly ahead to Saturday, six of the current top seven play each other. A fascinating weekend in prospect).
