Chester City 2 - 0 Cardiff City

City's opening stretch of the muscles ended in a 2 - 0 defeat at the Deva Stadium.

The game was dominated by substitutions with Chester making 10 at half time and Cardiff 5. More followed.

Paul Parry and John Robinson both left the field injured.

Mike Sheron (44) and Michael Branch (69) scored the goals for Chester.

Robert Earnshaw played the first half while Tony Warner and Robert Page both played the second half.

City move onto Hibernian on Saturday (ko 3:00pm at Easter Rd). Next week City take first team squads to Yeovil and Cheltenham before a home double over Racing Santander and Lazio.

City have these 5 games to prepare for the serious challenge that starts at Crewe on August 7th.
