Chopra and Purse in the papers

It is not just the joy of scoring which has inspired Michael Chopra in front of goal this season.

The Bluebirds striker has had an extra incentive to keep finding the back of the net - to get the fans singing his song.

'I just love the sound of 'Who's That Coming Over The Hill',' said the England Under-21 international.

'It's fantastic. That means such a lot to me.

'It's been a terrific first season with the Bluebirds and I can't wait to score again next season and hear that song again.'

He may be fighting them for a first-team berth at Ninian Park, but Cardiff City captain has nothing but praise for his rival central defenders.

Purse has shared the central defensive positions with Glenn Loovens and Roger Johnson for much of the campaign and has been impressed by what he has seen from his two younger colleagues.

Purse believes Loovens is 'destined for the Premiership', while Johnson has made 'huge strides' after making the step up for his first season at Championship level.

He believes Loovens will become a full Dutch international and said: 'There can't be much doubt we are very strong in the central defensive positions.

'And it gives me a warm glow to think that I've had an input into both Glenn and Roger.
