The impromptu celebration was picked up perfectly by the Sky camera's as Chopra scored his 7th goal in 4 league games.

It was a dodgy opening 10 mins from City who allowed Bristol to swarm towards the Cardiff goal right from the kick off. But after that it was Cardiff all the way with the TV commentators purring over the performance, Burke, Chopra and the new stadium.

City had missed openings when Burke rounded the keeper but a change of feet saw the oportunity missed and Quinn tried an effort from nearly 50 yards as the Bristol keeper was out of his goal.

The pressue paid off though when the excellent Adam Matthews crossed and the Bristol City skipper Jamie McCoombe studded the ball into his own net.

The 2nd goal was just brilliant. Burke won possession in his own half. He skipped two tackles then ran unchallend for 40 yards before playing in Chopra. The countries leading scorer took one touch with his left foot before finishing with his right. He ran into the corner and produced the goal celebration that claimed his boots were too hot to handle.

Bristol City enjoyed a 10 minute spell where they looked like they may pull a goal back midway into the 2nd half but they were undone again by Burke. He won possession in the middle of the park before breaking towards goal and playing a slide rule ball to Gavin Rae who came bursting through from midfield to finish with aplomb.

Bristol were narked, giving away free kicks, yellow cards. The manager was spoken to on the touchline. This was Cardiff's day.

It was a fantastic match for Cardiff. The win has taken City back to the top of the table. Middlesbrough, Newcastle and West Brom are all level on 10 points after 4 games.

New signing Kelvin Etuhu came on for the last 10 mins. Adam Matthews and Chris Burke were man of the match contenders on another perfect matchday at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Next up City face the other Bristol team - Rovers, on Wednesday in the Carling Cup 2nd round.
