Chopra sets sights on Championship title

'All the lads believe that we can win this league,' Chopra told the Echo. 'This club is going places. We've shown what we can do, so why do people say the play- offs, why not the title? We're playing some great stuff at the moment.'

'People thought that after losing 2-1 at Preston that this is it, Cardiff will start slipping away and especially giving a three-goal lead away at Plymouth, but we have proved that however many people keep knocking us we will keep fighting back.''It was a great result and it's put us at the top of the table where we should be. When I came to the club I said that I would get goals - 20-plus - and people might have doubted that.

Speaking of the victory over Luton and of his teammates Chopra continued

'If we want to get into the Premiership we need to be scoring goals and that is what we are doing at the moment.

'I should have had a hat- trick. I had two good chances either side of the half and should have done better, but there was no way that Pursey was going to let me have that penalty.

'He missed his last penalty and I would have done the same. The next one you want to make sure you put it away.

'Steve Thompson and I are working hard together in training on our link-up play, and if we are to do well, then we both need to be playing well, something like the partnership Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke had at Manchester United when they won the treble.

'It's just a bit unfortunate that Tommo has not got a couple of goals because of his team work.'
