Chris Kamara, chairman of the Powerade Player of the Month Awards panel, said: "With so many big name strikers at Newcastle, Michael Chopra was unfortunately reduced to something of a bit part role. I think moving to a club like Cardiff was the best thing he could have done and now that he is getting regular first team football he is showing what great potential he has. Michael's goals this month have been superb and he is sure to have a big part to play in Cardiff's promotion push this season."
Dave Jones missed out on a second consecutive maanger of the month award. Geraint Williams of Colchester took the honour.
