City 0 - 1 Plymouth. Match reaction

It's becoming a very sick joke now. Match after match we concede poor goals from crosses. The spiel from Lawrence must chance now. He can't carry on bemoaning the way it happens. Action needs to be taken.

Cardiff entertained Plymouth in front of the Sky viewers and while being unlucky, especially with a cast iron Earnie penalty appeal turned down and some frantic defending from Plymouth, the Bluebirds were below par and made Plymouth's workman like performance look far better than it was.

The only goal of the game came when a Plymouth cross was missed by Lee Bullock, he allowed his marker to pull clear at the far post. In a cruel twist of fate Bullocks punishment was to feel the ball hit his head after it was headed back across goal and he could do little to stop it beating Margetson.

Plymouth made 4 or 5 other efforts at goals but nothing significant while City huffed and puffed and created more but Plymouth are riding a wave at the moments and luck is on their side.

So far this season they have scored three goals, two have been og's and one came from a penalty. They are a team though and fight for each other.

Earnie's penalty claim was a cert but the referee bottled it. He then went into hiding and refused to explain his decision when asked afterwards by Sky. He knows he cost us at least a point.

When the game became desperate City attacked and were unlucky when a scramble infront of goal saw Earnie denied twice, the second time by Wotton's arm. City though were not effective enough and there was too much pondering and so many times the wrong option was taken. We seem to have given up on trying to play Earnie though one on one.

All in all very disappointing. I'll be even more disappointed if I hear the same excuses from Lennie for our poor defending of crosses. Personally I'd get Warner and Collins into the defence to add some height. We are a soft touch for at least a goal a game from our inability to cut out balls into the box.
