Also due back today sometime is Robbie Fowler. He was said to be leaving Australia and flying back to the UK to decide on the next challenge in his career.

Sydney are thought to be offering him a similar financial package to the one Cardiff has offered but it's not really about the money. Does Robbie was to take his family to Oz for a year or will he stay in the UK.

Former team mate of Fowler, Trevor Sinclair, has been texting him telling to consider a year in South Wales.

"It would be great if Robbie came to Cardiff. I've left him a couple of messages on his mobile and I've been in touch with Steve McManaman. They are really good friends and I've told Steve to let Robbie know, if he doesn't already, that Dave Jones is really keen to sign him - and Steve has promised to pass that on to him.

"Hopefully it can happen because it would be a fantastic signing and he would do a great job in the Championship for Cardiff.

"For me he is still a Premiership player and it would be great for the club. It would just give everybody a lift."

For Cardiff the next first team friendly is at Huish Park against Yeovil this coming Saturday.

A Cardiff City XI will play Chippenham Town tomorrow (Tuesday 17th) at Hardenhuish Park.
