City are 8th. Division 1 review / preview

Last updated : 11 November 2003 By Michael Morris
Last Saturdays win against Stoke has place City in 8th place, one point behind the last play off spot.

West Ham are the team in 6th, they were 4 points ahead of City but they managed to throw away a three goal lead to lose 4 - 3 against West Brom who went top.

Alan Pardew has not won a game since taking over ther Hammers.

Morning leaders Wigan dropped to 4th after losing 1 - 0 at Reading. Sheff Utd and Norwich both won at home to overtake the Latics. Norwich have won all 8 of their home games so far this season. Cardiff will be the 12th team to visit there. Norwich have 4 of the next 6 games at home and could find themselves top when we arrive if they continue their fine form at Carrow Rd.

There just 5 fixtures in Division 1 this Saturday.

Derbyv Burnley15.00
Gillinghamv Wimbledon15.00
Norwichv Watford15.00
Nottm Forestv Ipswich15.00
Readingv Millwall15.00

Cardiff will drop at least one place as both Reading and Millwall are the same number of points as City. If they draw and Forest beat Ipswich we would drop to 11th. It's a tight table, the whole of the top half are challenging.

City's next game is on Nov 22nd at struggling Wimbledon, the MK Dons are rock bottow with only 10 points and a goal difference of -23 compared the best goal difference in the division of +13 by Cardiff City.

City will catch up the games in hand by Dec 9th when we complete the previously postponed games against WBA (Nov 25th) and Preston (Dec 9th). The means City have 5 games in 19 days from Nov 22nd.

Table as of Nov 8th.
