City at home to Blackburn in the FA Cup

Last updated : 08 December 2004 By Michael Morris
Cardiff City drew Premiership opposition at home this afternoon when Blackburn were paired up with the Bluebirds.

The match will be played over the weekend of Saturday 8th January.

Blackburn are managed by former Wales manager Mark Hughes, Hughes is an admirer of Daniel Gabbidon and already there have been newspaper stories suggesting a possible move to Ewood Park for the City defender. With the game a whole week after the transfer window opens who will Gabbidon be playing for?

Two other ties of note in the third round draw. Non league Exeter City were drawn to play Manchester Utd at Old Trafford and non league Yeading were drawn at home to Newcastle Utd. Thankfully the FA Cup still has an open draw so these "romantic" fixtures occur.
