Cardiff City travel to Aggborough to face Kiddermisnster Harriers in the 1st round of the Carling Cup.

Kidderminster are managed by Jan Molby.

The teams last met at Aggborough in the 3rd division in February 2001. City won that game 4 - 2 thanks to goals from Scott Young, Jason Bowen Daniel Gabbidon and Robert Earnshaw. Match report here for that game.

In fact that's the only time City have played there before in a league fixture. The fixture at Ninian Park in the 2000 / 2001 season finished 0 - 0.

There have been Welsh Cup encounters between the teams, in March 1978 Cardiff drew 1 - 1 with Kidderminster at Ninian Park, John Buchanan scored City's goal. In those days there were replays and the return match at Kidderminster was won 3 - 1 by Cardiff. David Giles (2) and a Buchanan penalty.

The only other match between the teams was again at Kidderminster in another Welsh Cup game. It was 1989 and City, including current coach George Wood, went down 3 - 1 in the 5th round encounter.
