City climb 6 places and the sights are set up not down

City had to win last night against Hull to relieve the pressure off the relegation rumblings and while it wasn't the greatest of games and with little of the flair on show that tore Middlesbrough apart it was effective nonetheless.

The 3 points catapulted City 6 places upto 12th, just in the top half. Now Hull City, who are 6th, are just 8 points away having played a game more. Some of the team above us have played two games more. The job is not complete yet. A win at Colchester would take City through the 50 point barrier and in a decent position to have a run at a play off place.

Performances in the league would need to step up and City would need January form, not February form to have any chance.

City gave starts to Riccy Scimeca and Trevor Sinclair. Joe Ledley and Warren Feeney came off the bench. With the extra numbers Dave Jones gave Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Aaron Ramsey the night off. Neither featured in the matchday 16.

So onto Colchester and a game against a side who are struggling and are odds on for relegation in their final season at Layer Rd before moving to a new stadium next season.
