"I like John Oster and we have been monitoring him," Lawrence told the Evening Chronicle.
"There hasn't been a bid from us, but we would like him here.
"He's a good player with international experience and I think he could do well. We are watching what's happening and we're interested in a loan deal, but he may have other options in his mind, I don't know."
The 25 year old has not started for 6 games and was left out of the squad altogether for last weekends game.
