City in talks with Icelandic midfielder

Einarsson has completed the lastest Norweigian season with Lillestrom and was voted their player of the season. He is now a free agent and it's said this morning that he is in Cardiff for talks on a possible 18 month contract. Leeds are also linked to the player. Because he is out of contract he can sign immediately.

Dean Sheehan, who's agency represents the player told the Western Mail

"The player jetted in from Iceland on Sunday and is due to speak to Cardiff early this week.

"He will have a good look around the football club with a view to playing for City. He has heard of Lennie Lawrence's reputation as a coach and he is convinced that is game can advance under his guidance.

"But we have been speaking to City about Gylfi since September 1. We are keen to see him settled in the UK. There is no criticism of Cardiff, but Leeds have stepped into the equation.

"Whoever gets Einarsson will grab a steal because when he proves himself in the Championship you'll be looking at a £1m-plus valuation - at the very least."
