Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury’s battle it out for plum site

THREE of Britain's biggest supermarket chains have opened a bidding war to be part of the retail development site at Cardiff City’s new stadium.

Tesco have been in talks for months about building a new store at Leckwith, but their exclusivity deal ran out on December 31.

Now both Sainsbury’s and Asda have put their hats in the ring and declared their interest in being a part of the Cardiff City development.

The company overseeing the stadium project, Capitol and Regional Leckwith Ltd, are now evaluating the three offers and a decision will be made within the next few weeks.
