"The Department of Culture, Media and Sport were satisfied with our plans for the new stadium after going unconditional earlier this month," Peter Ridsdale told the Echo.

"The normal rule for standing is three seasons.

"But they have given us a further two seasons, having seen the plans for the new stadium.

"It's a great relief for the club because the financial structure and plans would have been affected.

"This is a massive boost to the club."

Ninian Park's capacity could have been reduced to 14,000 if permission had not been granted. The move to the new ground is due during the 2008 / 2009 season.
