Nigel Reo-Coker the 19 year Wimbledon captain could be in talks with Cardiff City this week.

The young midfielder is set to be sold by Wimbledon in a bid to help their financial plight.

Wimbledon deny agreeing a fee with Crystal Palace for Reo-Coker but the player, who is leading the Wimbledon team through a tough spell said

"I am only 19, yet I'm captain. I have to take responsibility and try to show leadership.

"It has been tough but a brilliant learning experience, one which will benefit me in the future.

"Even so, if I do end up at another club I hope it will be as just one of the young players and there will be experienced players around to learn from."

"I have talked to Palace and am due to meet with Cardiff to see what they have in mind."

Reo-Coker was linked at the start of the season and is an exciting talent.

City have also been linked over the weekend with Aussie Scott Chipperfield. Lennie went to Newcastle last Thursday to watch the Geordies play FC Basle. Chiperfield was thought to be the player Lennie and chief scout Barry Simmons were watching.

All Lennie would say was

"We weren't looking at a Newcastle player."
