City look to stay top. Blackpool preview.

It's been 34 years since City last won at Bloomfield Rd and only a win today will guarantee staying top of Division 2. City take their unbeaten 13 match record away run to the Barry Island of Lancashire. Since the last win in 1968 City have lost 13 of 17 games, drawing the other 4.

City are expected to only make one change from the team that beat Wycombe last week. Neil Alexander will return in goal and Matryn Margetson will go back on the bench. There's no updated news on the news that Willie Boland may miss out.

Lennie is in confident mood and believes City are nearly in as good form as Arsenal. He told today's Western Mail.

"Only Arsenal are more consistent than us and credit to the players for that. Apart from Arsenal, we are in better form than any other side in the English divisions, something I feel doesn't get acknowledged as it should. If you take all our games into account, we are as good as anybody at the moment and I hope it continues. People expect that from Cardiff and maybe that's why the players haven't had the plaudits they deserve. You can be sure, though, that they will not give up the record. They showed that at Wigan Athletic where we were staring defeat in the face and drew 2-2."

In fact City have only lost one regulation league game since last February. The only other defeats have come from the play off semi final and the Worthy Cup defeat at Spurs.

A massive 2000 or so City fans are expected at Bloomfield Rd this afternoon, it should be a cracking atmosphere and hopefully come 4.50pm City will have extended their away run and ended 34 years of waiting for a win on the Lancashire Riviera.
