City looking to break 17 year and 19 game Blackpool jinx.

"When the going gets tough, the tough get going."

Thats not Sam Hamam's latest battle cry as City embark on the last 10 games of the season. It's the record that was at No'1 in the UK charts that last time Cardiff City beat Blackpool in a game of football. Billy Ocean's hit topped the hit parade on Feb 22nd 1986 as the Bluebirds beat Blackpool 1 - 0 at Ninian Park.

Since then the team have met 19 times with Cardiff's sequence reading

Won 0, drawn 10, lost 9.

With City struggling to find a win at home, only 1 in the 6 league games played in 2003 so far then it does not bode well for the Bluebirds.

If ever there was a time for a change of fortune it's now. City are at home for the next three matches. Wins are so important if we are to reach Division 1. This week we entertain Blackpool and Mansfield, our rivals are all away.

Crewe travel to Plymouth and Luton
Oldham travel to Luton and Northampton
Bristol travel to Swindon and Huddersfield

QPR in 6th are at home to Cheltenham and Wigan.

City then have a week off when all the other teams play. It is so important to get the points in the bag this week so when we line up to play QPR at Ninian Park on April 5th we will still be within a point or two of second place but with 2 games in hand.

After the QPR game we face three away games in a week, Wycombe, Chesterfield and Peterborough. All games where City can pick up points from.

Start growing your finger nails a bit quick as I can see there will be plenty of biting to do in the next 47 days. Thats right only 47 days until the last game against Crewe.
