City move above Hull after Tuesday's matches

Last updated : 21 March 2012 By Michael Morris

The victory for Brighton should have seen City drop a place to 9th but Hull's defeat at home to Souhampton meant City swapped places with them.

It was an amazing night in the Championship. Southampton are going from strength to strength but there were a few massive shocks.

Reading, who took the lead agaianst Peterborough, lost 3 - 1. Birmingham, who took the lead against Portsmouth, lost 4 - 1 and Leeds, who took the lead against Nottingham Forest, ended up losing 7 - 3.

West Ham choked at home again managing a 1 - 1 draw with Middlesbrough.

The bottom line is that Cardiff, if they beat Coventry tonight, will jump up to 4th place.
