City now 11th. Division 1 round up

Last updated : 26 December 2003 By Michael Morris
The leaders of Division 1 are still Norwich City. Not content with winning week in week out the Canaries are preparing for the Premiership by strengthening their squad. After the loss of Huckerby and Crouch, Norwich hit back by signing Leon McKenzie. He scored twice on his debut last week to earn Norwich a win at Ipswich. This week they sign Matthias Svensson and he gets the winner against Forest today as Norwich go 3 points clear at the top. Oh and to top it all they have today completed the permanent signing of Darren Huckerby from Man City.

We went to Carrow Rd 2 weeks ago with a chance to get within 2 points of Norwich. 14 days later and we are 14 points behind and floundering. Why aren't we adding to our threadbare squad? 18 fit players is all we have.

West Brom are second after being held 1 - 1 at home by Derby. Both goals late on with Derby taking an 86th minute lead. WBA levelled in the 90th minute.

The teams in 3rd - 5th, Sheff Utd, Ipswich and Sunderland all won against Coventry, West Ham and Bradford respectively.

Wigan were shocked at home by Rotherham who won 2 - 1 and Millwall, who beat City at Ninian Park last weekend, won away again to move above the Bluebirds.

The shock at the bottom of the table came at the Majdeski where Wimbledon beat Reading 3 - 0. Sunday's oponents Watford lost 0 - 1 at Gillingham.
