City on verge of away day record

City have gone 10 away league games without defeat before, just once in the 1946/7 season. Providing City do not lose at Meadow Lane then a new club record of 11 games without defeat away from home will be set. Lennie has never lost on his travels since taking over the team just after that fateful day against Wigan. City were slaughtered 4 - 0 and within 48 hours Alan Cork was on his way.

Notts County have not won at home yet this season and Lennie is aware of the dangers. He told the Echo

"We have had a terrific away run, but this match is a potential banana skin. Notts County have not won a home match so far. They will be fired up for the visit of Cardiff City and they'll raise their game 25 per cent because of that. We must be mentally and physically spot on. If we lose focus we will get beaten. The players seem to have an inner belief, an inner conviction, when they run out away and we must continue that tomorrow."

If City get their record then they will have more chances to extend it further. We are away at Plymouth on Tuesday and if as expected the Wycombe home game is called off we have only one league game at home from the next 5.

There will be several thousand City fans at Meadow Lane tomorrow hoping for another piece of away day Cardiff City history.
