Last updated : 27 February 2016 By Michael Morris

Cardiff City's historic debt to the mysterious Langston Corporation has been cleared.

“I am pleased to confirm that the Club has today made full payment to Langston's lawyers in accordance with the agreement made on 1st February 2016 which concluded the long-standing dispute with them." said Choo yesterday.

“This has been achieved because of the continuing support and commitment of Tan Sri Vincent Tan to the Club, for which we are very grateful.”

Chris Nott, a senior partner at Capital Law, who represented Cardiff in the negotiations said: "The whole issue is done and dusted and swept into the bin.

"The club are delighted, it's a really good deal. It brings finality under something that has been a worry for everybody for a huge time.

"A payment will be made that is a reduction on the debt due and when the club gets promoted there will be a further payment.

With the money forthcoming, Hammam's representative on the Board, Michael Filiou, will leave with immediate effect. He was previously voted off.
