Graham Souness is quoted talking to Radio Lancashire
"Several clubs were interested in taking Alan Mahon on loan - Burnley, Coventry, Walsall and Cardiff. As we speak, I think Cardiff are the favourites. We'd rather sell players so we can go out and buy someone."
A loan move could be signed today as far as reports make out.
