Cardiff's last three games of the season are Bristol City (3rd) away, Wigan (1st) and home and Crewe (5th) away - current placings in brackets. Skipper Graham Kavanagh would like to have promotion in the bag before we take on Bristol City at Ashton Gate on April 22nd.

"Our last three Nationwide League matches of the season are against our biggest rivals, Crewe, Wigan and Bristol City," Kav told the Echo.

"If we just maintain our current form - we are averaging more than two points per game - we will go into our last five league games on 86 points.

"Surely then we could pick up four points from those five matches - and 90 points would give us automatic promotion."

City have one more game to reach the half way stage of the season. That's the match at Luton on Boxing Day. A win would see a 49 points haul from 23 games. Over the 2 point a game line that usually ensures automatic promotion.

Kav continued

"We all know how important the next six months are.It will be unbelievable if we achieve our target and earn promotion.

"An awful lot of people in and around football talk about sleeping giants. Looking at Cardiff City it's true. I'm convinced the fans have done that. This club has a 60,000-seater stadium on the way and that might not be big enough.

"When Sam Hammam was telling me about Cardiff City before I signed they had just been promoted from Division Three. I felt then there was no chance of achieving the massive progress Sam was talking about, that it was a pipe dream.

"But, almost as soon as I arrived here I was convinced. There is already huge media interest in Cardiff and if this club were in the Premiership it would be incredible. The 60,000 stadium would not be big enough. I really believe that. This club is certainly going places and it's all down to one man - Sam Hammam."
