City v Millwall. Match preview

Last updated : 22 February 2005 By Michael Morris
Wrap up warm, it's going to be chilly at Ninian Park tonight.

At the moment (1400 hrs) Cardiff is enjoying early spring sunshine and temperatures of around 6 degrees. It will be cold tonight but the game goes ahead. Calls to the club have confirmed this and pictures of the pitch taken earlier today are available on the official website.

Millwall come back to the Capital for the first time since last May when they were in the FA Cup final. They lost that day 3 - 0 to Manchester Utd and a similar scoreline tonight would warm up even the coldest of City fans.

Lennie will name an unchanged line up from the team that beat Brighton 10 days ago. The only possible change to the squad will be if Camerone Jerome is preferred to Stuart Fleetwood on the bench. Tony Warner will not face his former club, he will be one of the substitutes.

City: Alexander, Weston, Gabbidon, Collins, Barker, McAnuff, Kavanagh, Inamoto, Langley, Thorne and Lee.

Subs: Warner, Vidmar, Bullock, Ledley, Fleetwood or Jerome.

Paul Parry and Willie Boland are back in full training and Darren Williams is also available for selection. Gary Croft is the only senior player still injured and he's not expected to play for the first team again this season after his serious injury.

City are in good form, 4 wins and a draw in the last 5 games. At Ninian Park we have won the last three league games without conceeding a goal.

Millwall have won once in the last 7 games, they are desperate to keep their play off hopes alive and will be determined to see a change of fortune tonight. It doesn't seem to be a happy ship at the Den at the moment. Boss Dennis Wise is being thwarted from bringing in new players by his board and the fans are less than impressed.

Despite only picking up 5 points from the last 21 Millwall are only 4 points off a play off place. A City win would see us only 7 points behind Millwall.
