Come on Tranmere, Division 2 preview.

Every matchday from now on is a big day. As we have seen over the last 14 days things can swing around. After the Plymouth game we were 5 points behind Crewe, we have three away games, they had three home. Who would have guessed we would reduce their lead to just 1 point.

Crewe face a tricky tie at Tranmere tomorrow. Tranmere drew at Wigan in midweek and next Friday they entertain the mighty Bluebirds. A Crewe win will keep them second but its a tough ask, City will find it an equally difficult place to visit next week.

7th placed Tranmere have picked up 5 wins in their last 8 games, a draw against Wigan and back to back shock defeats at Cheltenham and at home to Swindon. Still 16 points from the last 24 is good going.

Wigan are away tomorrow at Peterborough. It should be an away win. Peterborough were thumped 6 - 1 at Plymouth in midweek but did beat Crewe last weekend.

Wigan's last 8 games have produced 15 points. W4, D3, L1.

Crewe suffered 2 home defeats in a row. Wigan and Peterborough winners at Gresty Rd. Over the last 8 games they have amassed 14 points. W4, D2, L2.

City have picked up 13 points in the last 8 games. W3, D4, L1.

Bristol City in 4th are away at 6th placed QPR. We could do with Rangers halting the run of the Robins. Bristol are 4 points behind City having played a game more, they have picked up 12 points from the last 8 games, W3, D2, L2 but the three wins have come in the last 3 games.

Rangers have picked up 14 points, W4, D2, L2.

Oldham in 5th place, behind Bristol City on goal difference, lost their unbeaten away record at Ashton Gate last Tuesday. Oldham are at home to Colchester tomorrow. The Latics have the worse form record of the top 7. W2, D3, L3 gives them a return of only 9 points and they have not won in the last three at home.

So the form team of the top 7 is Tranmere. Followed by Wigan, Crewe, QPR, Cardiff, Bristol City and Oldham.

It's amazing to think that if results going our way tomorrow we could be clear second and still have a game in hand.
