Cooper undergoes knee surgery

Cooper underwent surgery over the weekend and hopes to only miss two games.

'I'll miss Preston North End away and Brighton at home, but hopefully that's all,' Cooper told the Echo.

'It's going to kill me even missing two games. I hate being injured, but it's come to the point where I can't put operations off any longer.

His place in the City line up this Saturday at Preston will go to Paul Parry.

There will also be a change up front. Cameron Jerome is suspended after reaching 5 yellow cards. Alan Lee will start alongside Michael Ricketts in attack.

Dave Jones will be hoping to have Jason Koumas and Joe Ledley fit after both players were pulled from the Wales squad that travelled to Cyprus this week.

After Preston on Saturday, City face struggling Brighton on Tuesday night.
