Cov give Blues the blues whilst Boothroyd gets the boot

Last updated : 04 November 2008 By Michael Morris
Firstly it was revealed that Watford had sacked manager Aidy Boothroyd. With just 12 wins the last 48 games Watford have been on the slide. Boothroyd saved them from relegation in 2005, took them to the Premier League in 2006 but the consistent drop towards the bottom of the Championship has cost him his job.

Soon after came the news that Coventry had beaten Birmingham City at St Andrews. That keeps Birmingham just 5 points ahead of Cardiff. Saturday's defeat by Wolves saw us drop 9 points behind the leaders. At least Birmingham didn't break away.
