The former Liverpool midfielder has brought his side from the bottom half of Division 1 into the top 8.

December started for Coventry with a 2 - 1 win at Stoke, prior to that game the SkyBlues were in 15th place but the win at the Britannia followed by a win at Wolverhamton and home victories over Derby and Reading moved them into 6th place.

The last game of the month was a creditable goalless draw at 3rd placed Sheffield Utd but the point saw them drop two places to 8th.

After a New Years Day draw at Crystal Palace, Coventry remain in 8th place, just 1 point off the final play off spot.

The second division manger of the month went unsurprisingly to Paul Jewell again. Wigan won all their 5 league games in December and they beat Fulham in the Worthington Cup before being knocked out by Blackburn. 7 games in the month and they have taken a 9 point lead at the top of the table. Well deserved.

There is a City connection in the third division as well. Alan Corks former assistant, Ian Atkins, won the awrad for his achievements at Oxford Utd.
