Coventry City v Cardiff City. Match preview

Last updated : 13 August 2014 By Michael Morris

Two wrongs don't make a right. Coventry playing in Northampton, Cardiff playing in red. The world's gone mad.

Early team news:

Coventry Goalkeeper Lee Burge will be handed a start in Coventry's Capital One Cup clash against Cardiff.

Manager Steven Pressley confirmed that he intends to give Burge some much-needed game time, with on-loan shot-stopper Ryan Allsop dropping to the bench.

Reda Johnson and Jim O'Brien suffered knocks in Saturday's 3-2 defeat at Bradford on Saturday, but Pressley is confident they will be fit.

On the goalkeeping situation, Pressley said: "I intend to change the keeper, and that's nothing to do with Ryan's performance because I thought he was very sound at the weekend."

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will ring the changes for Cardiff with one eye on Saturday's clash with Huddersfield.

The likes of Kim Bo-Kyung, Magnus Eikrem, Guido Burgstaller and Kevin Theophile-Catherine will all make their first starts of the season and so will keeper Simon Moore.

Spanish striker Javi Guerra is a doubt and fellow summer signings Kagisho Dikgacoi and Federico Macheda look unlikely to make their debuts in the televised clash but are expected to be fully fit in time for the visit of the Terriers to south Wales this weekend.

Former Sky Blues favourite Ben Turner (ankle), and Craig Noone (groin) remain on the sidelines while Joe Mason joined Bolton on a season-long loan on Monday.
