After the drama of the last couple of games then today was a lot less hectic.

City produced a professional performance to run out 3 - 0 winners. After defeats at Reading, Sheff Utd and in the cup at home to West Ham, all seeing City lose when scoring 1st, it was nice to see the Bluebirds keep a clean sheet and manage to take a lead and keep it.

Both teams played out a first half that was easy on the eye but not that spectacular until Graham Kavanagh broke free in the box as the 45 mins came up, he took the ball wide left and crossed and no one was happier than Peter Thorne to see Crewe make a hash of clearing the ball and the Magic Hat Man scored at the far post.

Robert Earnshaw scored his 14th of the season when he latched onto a Kavanagh through ball for a trademark finish. Thorne completed the scoring when he controlled a 30 yard Boland cross to chest inside the defender and fire the ball into he net for his 4th goal in 4 games.

Earnie how has 14 in 11 starts.

City entertain Wigan on Tuesday night. The Latics are second in the table and have surprised everyone this season. They managed a 1 - 1 at Coventry today with both goals coming in the 90th minute.
